Here is a fun ride in the Santa Ynez mountains that starts with a steep, technical singletrack descent down Arroyo Burro. After reaching the bottom at White Oaks Camp, the loop continues up the smooth Arroyo Burro fireroad back to the top. The views are unbeatable but so is the poison oak. The ride will be muddy for about 1 week after a rain. An Adventure Pass is needed for parking. DIRECTIONS: From US 101 exit north on Highway 154 to Camino Cielo Road. Head east for about 7 miles enjoying views to both sides from the crest.

Started from the Rancho Oso campground at the bottom of the fireroad. About an hour or so climb up the Arroyo burro fireroad with a nice even grade and killer views. Fun decent in the trees with some skinny steeps, some nice flow to be had towards the bottom.

The trailhead was a couple hundred yards from where my folks had their rv parked, so of course I rode this trail again. The long climb worked off the hangover from the wineries.

Mud was still present in a few places on the downhill one week after the rains.
