REVISED ROUTE - This route is the original O'Neill - Hal's Place but now includes Trabuco Canyon Road instead of the horse trail that parallels it (which bikes are not allowed on). Make sure your 'time' includes this road section.

This route starts at one of the back gates to O'Neill Park and warms you up with a short singletrack & pavement combination through the park. After a significant pavement stretch along Trabuco Canyon Road you'll get to experience some climbing via a challenging singletrack-turned-fire road ascent that contains beautiful views of Trabuco Canyon and the Santa Ana mountain range. A brief out-and-back to Hal's place (complete with pool & spa) before experiencing an exciting double-track descent towards Live Oak Canyon road (which you'll need to cross carefully). Soon after a pleasant climb up a remote asphalt climb you'll get to enjoy the fruits of your labor, the Vista singletrack descent. The final portion of this counter-clockwise loop contains the ever-technical Live Oak singletrack - definitely the cherry on the top! WARNING: Exercise CAUTION when crossing Live Oak Canyon Road as vehicles carry very high speeds around blind corners!

11;30 solo. Very slow and go but at least it was a go!! Actually ended up doing a slight variation of this route. ended up going back the same way at Hal's pool.
It's been a while, but I still love this route. Good to be back here. Started from The Path Live Oak. A fair amount of adventure out there tonight: a near crash on the first DH going really, really fast; a pissed off rattlesnake at the top of Vista; and then I picked up a ton of poison oak on my arms somewhere toward the end of the route. I ducked back into the Path after the ride for some Technu Extreme (which works awesome by the way). Glad to be in one piece and itch-free, and, all told, it was an excellent ride.
Really nice out today. Get out there!
Enjoyed this one yesterday, so I did it again. This is a great short ride. Pushed the pace a bit today and felt really good.
This is a really worthwhile and fun short ride. Looking forward to doing this again. I had a bit of trouble following the course file. In particular, the initial singletrack downhill entrance has been moved, so I was circling right from the get-go.
