Very hot when ascending (108 F) despite being at 4,500 ft elevation. After ascending the 2.5 miles of Josephine Peak Road starts the single track. The trail is fairly wide, nevertheless there is major exposure at times. The cliffs are very deep and to make matters worse in some sections, the trail has been cut into the rock in a vertical fashion, so I had to ride close to the edge of the trail to avoid my handle bar touching the rocky wall which will send me right down the cliff. Besides that, the loop is awesome. The best part for me was the last 4 miles ridden on the Gabrielino trail. There is some Puddle Dog Bush on Gabrielino but is avoidable. (New chain)

This isn't actually a mountain bike trail... We had to walk for more then half the time. The trail is on a very bad condition, and the vegetation is overgrown all along the trail.

Angeles Crest Hwy is still closed from La Canada Flintridge. Does anyone know more about timeline for reopening? Thanks.

Rode with Dan, Randy, and Jose. Saw bear coming the other way, had to turn back for a bit.

Ridden with Glen and Mike of Team Bonehead, the Ottoman, and Cheesehead. Awesome day with cool over cast weather keeping the sun out. More of a social paced ride today, lots of stops, and a couple of flats for one of the Boneheads and The Ottoman. :wink

Strawberry is overgrown, has trees dropped down, bushes above and to the sides need to be hacked waaaaay back. Saw a striped racer and a gopher snake today.
