Stupendous views make this a ride the strong rider will enjoy both aerobically and aesthetically. Panoramas and vistas appear from the start of the ride as you climb relentlessly. The return is one long, non-stop, thrilling downhill. This is an out-and-back ride for when the Santa Cruz singletrack is overgrown with poison oak. DIRECTIONS: Take Highway 154 off the 101 in Santa Barbara for about 10 miles turning RIGHT on Paradise Road for about 5 miles until you reach the Lower Oso Recreation area (you will have to drive over a water crossing). Turn LEFT at the sign which says Upper Oso for 1.3 miles heading toward the rear of the camp. You will need an Adventure Pass.

Weather started out at 50 degrees with fog and ended at 90 with blazing sun. Awesome ride. About 10 other cyclists out there. They said that both the Buckhorn & Santa Cruz singletracks are overgrown with poison oak. Hence the out-and-back.
