This route defines my idea of real mountain biking. It has a little of everything. There were a lot of people out here today and everyone wanted to stop me and start a conversation. Ran into some hikers on Trabuco looking for the falls, then a group of hunters asking me where the deer were. Passed two groups of shuttle riders on San Juan that looked like they weren't going to make it out. Now that's where all those pedal reflectors on the trails are coming from.

Close to this route but, Up San Juan Trail to Old San Juan past Blue Jay to Main Divide down Trabuco and out Trabuco Creek to home.

Bit off more than i could chew. WOW

The route has tons of single track and a little fire road for the first 7 miles and for another 2 in the middle of the ride. Other than that all great single track. It blows my mind that someone could do this route in 4 hours. It took me 8.

GREAT DAY FOR A RIDE. CLEAR AND COOL ALL THE WAY. LOTS OF PEOPLE OUT ON THE TRAIL. FIRST DAY BACK ON THE BIKE IN THREE WEEKS SINCE THE CRASH. LEGS FELT A LITTLE WEAK.

Great fun: Started at 38 degrees in shorts, arm warmers--frozen snow along trail--no heat until top--sound of creek--Blue Jay a mess with fallen trees trying to find Old San Juan. Sunny above Cocktail but cloud cover clear out to sea. Missed Main Divide back & almost went to Elsinore--hit wall physically up Pain Divide--good to see Erik & BetF there--Trabuco down always fun--Trabuco Road turned cold & windy. Was a 37 mile trek--good sleep tonight.

Great ride for the long haul training.

I hit a rock on the way up Trabuco and bent a pedal or something. Brand new XT pedals. Bummer. That bugged me for a while but I forgotten about it by the time I hit San Juan. Had to turn on the lights for the ride up "The Wall" and down Trabuco.
