Brutally steep and unforgiving at times, similar to Iron Mountain, but 'cleaner.' There are some enjoyable contour grades and flat sections, but they are minimal considering the 2,000 ft elevation change in five miles...a typical San Diego Hike-A-Bike trail with the expected giant ruts.

10/15/10 Cloudy and cool for perfect riding weather. Ride sure has a heck of a lot of hike-a-bikes (and hike-down-a-bike). Shortened the ride somewhat. Hats off to Erik for charting the ride.
10/04/10 This place was GORGEOUS, with great views, and few folks on the trails... Major downside was the steepness of the trails. I had to hike a bit too much to really enjoy myself. If I ever come back, it will probably be on foot.
