Starting at the Antonio Pky dead-end at Los Flores, ride into O'Neill. Take Twisty Tire-Live Oak-Vista. Cross Live Oak Canyon road (careful) and climb to Hal's Pool. At Hal's Pool go back the way you came and cross back over Live Oak Canyon road. Climb the pavement toward the monastery and go through the gate at left. Climb back up to Vista and do it again. Then take the pavement or horse trail back through O'Neill and climb Twisty Tire. Intermediate ride due to the rocky descent from Hal's Pool which is not a problem if you keep your line and stay out of the ruts.

07/31/10 fun ride with flanneryd and chrisTA. Thanks for the ride girls. We had a hostile hiker on Vista put his hiking pole in front of ChrisTAs tire. There was plenty of room for them both, but the old fart wanted to remind her that he had the right of way. what a dork. i hike and i get the hikers perspective but he was just inconsiderate.
