Beginning at Cook's Corner this ride takes you south into Rancho Santa Margarita by way of the twisting Live Oak Rd. From Rancho Santa Margarita you will travel southbound to Dana Point where the Pacific Coast Highway will carry you north all the way to the Santa Ana River trail which is on the border of Newport and Huntington Beach. After about sixteen miles on the river trail you'll encounter a few very challenging climbs in Villa Park before the final leg down Santiago Canyon. Somehow, I avoided the rain, save for light drizzle at Crystal Cove. Overall, great ride. I did it in the reverse direction, so as to get the climbing out of the way at the beginning. I much prefer it in the reverse.

Rode half of it in the rain - hitched a ride for the last 10 miles (but rode a detour earlier which added 4 miles). 75 miles total.

NICE COOL RIDE FOR THE ENTIRE DISTANCE. LOTS OF PEOPLE ON THE RIVER TRAIL AND SANTIAGO CANYON ENJOYING THIS WONDERFUL WEATHER.

Rode to bike mag in the morning, and got a new delphi comp, to test out. Did this loop..smoked a bunch of weed on the ride. gave a tube to some dude in irvine. Did a bonus loop through irvine to make a 100miles.

Did this one starting at Tustin and Chapman, riding to Cooks, then doing the route but I turned right onto Santiago after Imperial highway, heading back to my starting spot.......all aboard my new fixie! 48x17 gear, it was rough!!
