If you're a movie buff, you've seen Mountclef Ridge in many westerns. Starting from Wildwood Park in Thousand Oaks, this predominantly singletrack route courses through suburban streets studded with volcanic eruptions. It has some fantastically smooth singletrack, some climbs, and great 360 degree views for miles around. DIRECTIONS: From Highway 101, take the Lynn Ave. exit and turn LEFT on Avenida De Los Arboles until deadends in the Wildwood Park parking lot. Pick up a free map at the signboard which is most explicit.

02/21/21 This is a GREAT trail. Spectacular views. The first few miles contain a lot of lava covered single track, with a few brief/steep climbs. Make sure you have tires with good sidewalls. The lava provides great grip so although some of the climbs look sketchy you can clean them without spinning loose. Some cliff side sections also force you to pay attention. Dropping all the way down to the falls and in the shade was a nice contrast to the barren buttes. I definitely need to come back and explore this place some more.
