Classic out-and-back fire road climb on a well maintained fire road (Forest Service Road 11501-Lusardi Truck Trail). It's actually self-maintained because the grades don't permit much erosion (good for 1 speeds). This route is not far from the Black Mountain truck trail. There isn't as much elevation gain as BMTT, but its a nice ride through riparian oak areas. Its straighter layout and grade make it a little more fun on the descent (watch for trucks, and cows). Similar to Black Mountain, this route also ends at a private property in-holding. Bummer, because another epic loop is foiled. **You have to park at the base of BMTT because there is no parking allowed where Pamo and Lusardi meet.
