Santa Ysabel East is the final (or first) leg of the "Coast to Crest Trail." The trail is a nicely marked all 'fire' road route. This route hits both the West Vista loop and Kanaka loop so you see all the trails available here. There is a variety of terrain: gradual to steep, rocky to smoothish (mostly), and a bit of sand here and there. There are three stream crossings (in the summer). This ride can be done as a shuttle as well. If so, then start on the Farmer Rd. side...you'll climb 900 ft less.
