Great day for this event, considering it was wet and muddy in spots. Took my time in the beginning and ate a lot of food. That made the difference for me. Felt great and finished strong. Started my Garmin a few minutes late, so my actual time was closer to 9:20. Blew away my sub-10hr goal. Pinos dirt was amazing going down. Cleaned all of lower Pinos for the first time ever.
WOW - what a ride/event - Big thanks to Troy & Carl for pushing me on all our training rides. Felt pretty good for most of the ride - well the wall sucked! Pulled the plug on this route half way through last year but was determined to finish this year. This ride is unlike anything else I have ever done on the bike. Everybody is so cool and you end up seeing the same faces for most of the ride. We had some pretty interesting conditions out there today but for the most part it really made it fun. I pushed hard the last 45 minutes to try and come in under 10 hours and was happy that I did. Thanks to DW for putting this event on and the support crews out there. Good seeing so many friends and familiar faces. Congrats to anyone who finished this monster ride today. I'm going to bed!
This was a great way to end DW's run of hosting the UQ. The rain last night left us with mud, snow, and some fun conditions today as well as perfect riding weather, making this one a true epic. Jesse had a mechanical, probably costing him his second UQ win, but he still fought his way back into second, which is crazy considering how much time he lost. But, DW had a mechanical that cost him even more time. I spent most of the day going back and forth with Brian E. So much so that we decided to finish down Bell together to the finish. Really cool since we spend so much time riding together on the Saturday rides. Tom and Matt finished strong. Carl decided to enjoy the day and cruise...kinda like what he does on our usual Saturday rides :)

Garmin died about 2/3 of the way down Bell. Congrats to Brian and Troy for finishing. Hardest ride I've ever done without a doubt. Legs are still incredibly sore. Great vibe at the aid stations and at the finish. Very proud to have completed it.
great day to be alive... this epic is almost entirely singletrack with the exception of the dreaded wall. good times with good people.
Garmin shut off,due too to long a day. One of the hardest, but funnest things you can do on a mountain bike... I highly recommend it. Thanks Troy and Ryan, and all the rest of ya, for sharing in the pain !
Scratches, crashes, bloodshed, and suffering, this route will provide all four. Rode with Hippydude and Quad Damage most of the day. I had some stomach problems going up San Juan and didn't want to stop so we got separated. Somehow managed 11th overall. I think the attrition rate was higher this year with the heat.
My longest day on the bike so far. Partnered up with ThinkFast. We stuck together and played it pretty safe. Couple of crashes between the both of us, but we came through ok. Many strong riders out there. Was awesome to see guys descend Yeager and Pinos with such speed and ease. What a great day to ride, perfect weather. Troy and I had a blast! Thanks to the Rads for organizing this ride, and to everyone who volunteered. And big thanks to Troy. I wouldn't have done this on my own.
