1rst time up GMR and my Garmin was dead from the get go! Very nice road. Some crazy skateboarders were coming down the last few miles at 25+ mph as I was heading up. Took me 1:03 to the junction with Glendora Ridge Road (9 mile mark). 2:10 to Baldy Village. 3:05 back to the GMR/GRR junction. Stayed in big ring all the way up until the 4.5 mile marker on GRR. I parked right at the intersection of Sierra Madre and GMR. Mile markers on GRR start at the GMR/GRR junction at 0 and hit 12.0 at Baldy village. Mileage markers on GMR actually start at 0 where GMR hits East Fork which is 5 miles past GMR/GRR. The mile markers then go to 14.0 at the bottom or GMR. Only used 2 bottles of fluid for the whole ride.
GREAT LATE AFTERNOON RIDE. IT'S BEEN ABOUT 2 YEARS SINCE I'VE RIDDEN THIS ROAD. THE ROAD IS OPEN TO CARS NOW, BUMMER. NOT MUCH TRAFFIC AND ONLY A FEW OTHER RIDERS UP THERE. FUN LONG CLIMBS AND FAST DOWNHILLS.
Nice day for a ride. 55 degrees at Baldy Village. Some road construction/repair/trucks on the road.
Nice up there today!
Glendora Mountain Road to Glendora Ridge and on to Baldy Village. This is an in and out ride, very scenic wit h lots of snow capped peaks and green pastures. Rode with the Munnster(Rick), cold day, very little traffic. Sore as hell. Great Ride.
Planned to ride with OC Rebels but they cancelled due to weather, so we did it on our own. Will be back.
