Since there was 0.75 inches of rain yesterday, I took a drive over to CoyoteSprings to check the mud/flood status of the northern part of LawrenceLn. At MountainView there is no way to proceed on LawrenceLn. The whole width of the dirt road and the dirt up to the barbed wire fences on both sides of the road is under water. Further north there was another spot that was a wide mud puddle that was not bike passable. So for the time being, only road rides in ProngHornRanch.

06/30/22 - Very warm when started at4:30 pm. later the breeze was very nice. The first section of Fenceline was horrible. It was overgrown with dried straws like vegetation combined with extremely loose dirt. After the first service road crossing the single track became normal or acceptable.

05/27/22 - no rso. StartTime=1030. 179. Explore SunCityWest to see what happened to the old pickleball courts; 4 have been converted to a single tennis court. 2 have been converted to platform tennis courts. This is my last visit to SunCity, SunCityWest, and Surprise AZ. Also this was the last visit with my friends of 22 years who introduced my deceased wife and me to pickleball as the 4 of us participated in RoundDancing and SquareDancing, and playing cards and pickleball as well as going out to lunch. I have sold my 2nd home in HappyTrailsResort and they sold their 2nd home in SCW. We will still visit via telephone.
05/28/22, 01:51 AM I am not moving from the home in Prescott Valley AZ which was built and lived in since 2004, 93 road miles N of Surprise AZ. I am merely not going more than 25 miles from home any more. At age 86 driving 93 miles was getting too hard. The Surprise home was used to stay in Sunday nite thru Wednesday morning each week from October thru April so we could Round Dance, Square Dance, play pickleball etc.

05/15/22 - Kind of too warm today for me at the start. Later the temp was excellent. No mountain biker was seen today. Maybe too hot for them. Doing Blue Mud again just after riding North Ridge. Good route. Good ride.

12/05/21 - no rso. StartTime=1917. 175. There will probably be no bike rides for me until sometime next year. My wife broke her right hip on 2021aug18 with surgery the next day and has been in a hospital, rehab hospital, and a skilled nursing facility for 100 days. She has home care witth a physical therapist twice a week, occupational therapy once a week and a nurse once a week. Her goal is to be able to walk again with a walker. She still can not walk unaided. She needs a lot of supervision. She has fallen without injury 3 times since she has been home. Most of the time she is in a wheelchair. I brought her home on 2021nov26, the day after Thanksgiving. Taking care of her is exhausting. This walk is the first pure exercise for me since 2021nov25.
12/08/21, 10:41 PM Hi Shiftalot, hope you & your wife are hanging in there. Sounds very tough. My mom, who is 87 tripped face forward down a stair onto concrete, this year, banged her head and cracked her knee bad. Was in a wheel chair for many weeks. Painful on many levels, but she did get through it.

11/28/21 - Good weather today. I suffered at the beginning because I ate lunch and started to pedal right away. I planed to descend on Cold Water Trail but the evening/night came too quickly so I went back the same way I climbed up.

05/20/21 - Perfect day for MTB- Fresh breeze with overcast sky. Last time I climbed up Brown Mountain was in 2014. At that time the Ken Burton Trail was closed. Now is open and rideable. My first time descending and riding the 7 miles of Ken Burton Trail. It is my kind of ride.
05/08/21, 01:24 PM Do you know there is drop down box in the top right corner so you can choose the correct type of ride -Mtn vs. road??? You are posting a road ride as a mountain bike ride. For some reason you are choosing to ignore this, but hey, it's the internet so whatever.

05/05/21 - Rented a SUP and got a paddle in on the Napa River. Went from the docks up to Lincoln and then back downstream to the Yacht Club and then returned.
Saw some goslings and other birds but no exceptional wildlife.
Nice day on the water.

03/07/21 - Great weather for mountain biking. (And hiking too) Today's goal was to explore LAVIDA Road towards the south after its junction with Olinda Road. LaVida road is closed about one mile from the junction because of a cattle farm established there. Years ago i was able to descend to Carbon Canyon Road using a very nice single track existing on the west side of that particular hill. No more.

02/28/21 - Decided to take advantage of the demo bike I had and see if my legs would have enough to do Harding-Jopiln. Haven't done a ride like that in a long time. The wind was crazy out there today but legs felt good. Unfortunately not far from reaching 4 Corners I realized I had a leak in the rear tire. Tires were setup tubeless and there was no sealant in the tire. Even worse I realized I did not have a tube. I had everything else in my backpack. I had not seen any other riders and knew I was facing a long walk down. Luckily OC Fire Authority was out there. We tried to fix the flat but couldn't find the hole. They ended up giving me the "ride of shame" all the way back down to my car. Really nice guys and saved the day for me.
