Nice steady abandoned fire road climb (9% avg. grade). Much of it has a single track feel. Come back down the same way, or if you take a sharp right after the white gate at the top of Harding, you can climb another 1,300ft. to Joplin Trail (see: Harding - Joplin in the ROUTES section).

GeoLadders again supports uploading directly from a Garmin device to Post activities, but using the IE browser only (Microsoft Interent Explorer). Plug in your Garmin to your computer and give it a try, just click 'Upload from GPS' button above this text. Or, if uploading a new route, click the red 'Upload Activity' button top upper right.

Downloading routes directly to a Garmin device (IE browser only) to follow a route on the GPS, or to race a Virtual Partner (yourself or others) on the GPS, is again supported. Notice the 'Virtual Partner' tab in downloads.
* How to 'Upload' (or POST) a GPX file to an existing GeoLadders route from your Garmin gps. For example, upload your activity to Strava then export ACTIVITY as GPX from Strava to your computer. Open the activity in Strava, click the 'Action' icon on left (wrench), select 'Export GPX' (saves to 'Downloads' on your computer). Go to www.geoladders.com, open the existing route you want to post to, select 'Post GPX to this route' (on left), then click the 'Browse' button (middle of page), find the GPX in your 'Downloads' directory. Double click, save. That's it. Your route appears on geoladders.com/posts and in your dashboard.

** How to 'Export' a GeoLadders route to put on your Garmin gps.
Download the GeoLadders route to your computer as a GPX using the 'Export GPX' link, to the left. Login to Garmin Connect at connect.garmin.com 1. Select ACTIVITIES (far left menu, 5th option) 2. Upper right, click IMPORT, then click BROWSE, middle of page. 3. Double click the activity, then click IMPORT DATA button. 4. Good ride today. 2nd gear all the way up. 1:08:30 to Mid. Had a little lunch. About mile 6, started to get chilly, then got COLD. Freezing and windy at 4 C's. 1:57:30 to gate. Glad I brought my full-fingered gloves and a warm head/ear warmer for descent. Feet frozen by mile 7 or 8. Took an hour after descent to get feeling back in my feet. Then on descent, felt something on the outside of my knee. Thought I'd strained something or poked a bush on the way down. It was a little tick. Hope I don't die. Yowzer!

Some water still, two big downed trees at mile 7ish (can walk under), then wow, a whole bunch of snow. What a surprise. Saw a few tracks (bike).

SS. Late afternoon spin up Harding. It has been a few years since I did Harding only up and down. I normally have some warmup miles/elevation by the time I get there. Today was straight from the parking lot. I spent the first 5 miles warming up the legs...they decided they were doing the ride under protest. Finally started to feel good about mile 6. Temps were a tad warm to start, then we got the breeze...such a welcome breeze. Fun run down. Good day on the bike.
