Combination ride comprised of two very popular loops: Whiting Ranch and the Luge. This route gives you a little bit of everything, tree lined single track, fire road climbs and descents, and a moderately technical drop down the ever popular luge trail. Warning: This route requires that you cross a road that cars frequently travel at high speeds. EXERCISE CAUTION!

Saturday AM ride with the Linked guys. Felt kind of slow, today. Not enough sleep.

Mighty fine stuff out there today! No way I was going to miss out on the thrills. Got out shortly after the storm cell moved through. Not much rain over here or in Whiting, but I could see from the house that Modjeska Grade and part of STT was getting real rain. When I got there, there did appear to be evidence a gully washer had charged through. Beyond that were the sensations of the storm itself as it drifted on over the mountains into my neighborhood. The aftermath lifted my spirits and my awareness. The smells, the sounds, the sights, it was sensory overload that did not disappoint. Ha! And I managed to get tweaked in the one and only muddy spot on the entire ride, a tiny little 2 foot strip caused some spooky front wheel drift but my deft skills saved me once again. Yeah, it was just one of "those" rides. You know? a Great Ride!

Mayhem. Anarchy. Here’s how it went down. Body Central sent the word out Friday that I was doing a longer ride Sunday afternoon when the cool breezes kick in. Everybody was totally down for that, but nobody raised a flag when the digestive tract went on a sugar binge of cookies and cupcakes at last nights party and even proceeded to fuel the next day on leftover cookies and cupcakes. Nothing said. And so it was predictable, really. Should have noticed the sluggish climbing but was focused on the empty trails and promised cool afternoon breezes. But the climbs were feeling a bit tough and soon enough it could not be ignored, the digestive tract was complaining of no substance food, the legs were complaining of no power and pointed their collective leg fingers at the digestive tract. And that was that, all that internal conflict going on and it was decided to abort the original longer ride plan and make the right turn for Beers and Burgers. Still, a Great Ride!

Finally some real live sunshine! Unfortunately, deadlines and commitments, what to leave in, what to leave out - meant I had to leave out OC and make the right turn on down the Luge. Relatively light traffic in Whiting and a complete absence of other human souls on STT. (Better?, trobe)? Still, a Great Ride!
