This epic route connects three great trails: Bulldog - Mesa, Backbone and Zuma Ridge - Edison. Bulldog climb and Zuma Edison climb are two of the toughest in the region. Parking at Malibu Creek State Park is $8/day but this route can be started from Corral Canyon or Kanan Dume for free. Please excercise caution on paved Kanan Dume Road and Malibu Canyon Road as there is fast traffic.
12/28/09 hardest day on my enduro. next time a light xc will do the job much better. rode it on Christmas day not a single rider for the all trip. got 2 ticks bites sore neck and a bump on my knee. amazing views 1 st time in the Malibu creek park on a bike can't wait to go back. entire trip took me 35 miles so I may be made a wrong turn somewhere. direction are great considering i have never been in the park before.
10/21/07 I made the ride solo. It was drizzling most of the day so the climbs really took it out of me...the dirt on bulldog and edison was like pedaling up soft clay. No water is available until the very end at the bathrooms on Malibu Canyon road. Make sure you take plenty of food and water. Enjoy. It's a tough one.
