| trobe1 Laguna Hills | 07/01/09 1:43 PM | Staff- Thanks for posting the Rim Nordic race results! |
| Staff | 07/01/09 8:54 AM | DaddyHC: fixed. |
| Staff | 07/01/09 8:52 AM | S.L.O.Phil: You can add photos/etc. to any route you create. If you go to the route overview page for the route, you will see options across the top under the route name for editing the route. If you select "edit navigation", you can add photos and directions on that page. |
| DaddyHC Prescott Valley | 07/01/09 8:28 AM | Staff: Route 25327 was created yesterday. I posted the ride today. I set the location as 'San Diego' and my post shows that the route is in 'Israel' rather than 'California'. I must be dreaming to have traveled so far. |
| S.L.O. Phil Aliso Viejo | 06/30/09 4:25 PM | Staff: Can personal routes from GPS be uploaded with photos for directions and details? |
| pacman Thousand Oaks | 06/30/09 3:42 PM | Niice, someone else likes round numbers. |
| SKINNY Lake Forest | 06/30/09 3:26 PM | screw that.. we (I) need a clydesdale ladder... |
| trobe1 Laguna Hills | 06/29/09 9:28 PM | Can we have a new ladder for just Craig & Doug?? These two are just killing it out there. |
| pacman Thousand Oaks | 06/29/09 12:51 PM | Sjon - basically: menu->Training->Courses->Do Course. When you do a course you'll have a new page "Compass" which has a big arrow pointing the direction to take, real simple to use. Turn-by-turn will pop up though not all courses have TBT. If a course has paths that cross or overlap I turn on the virtual partner and watch on the map which branch he takes ;-). |
| TREE Las Flores | 06/29/09 9:54 AM | Uploaded a ride this morning from a ride I did last night and it was not applied to the game... do I need to upload it that day in order for it to count? If so - sorry Red Team..... was lazy when I got home after the ride. |
| Sjon Riverside | 06/28/09 9:40 PM | Edge 305 question: so I use this a lot to upload my rides and all but cant figure out how to use the download feature with my Garmin. I want to choose a route from geoladders and then follow that route as I'm riding. How to do this? Will my GPS have turn by turn or just me as an arrow on the map? |
| bikesurfski Irvine | 06/28/09 8:51 AM | Erik, here's another link: http://forums.motionbased.com/smf/index.php?topic=6566.0. Looks like the rubber is permanent, but can be patched. |
| Erik MM Oceanside | 06/28/09 8:29 AM | I want to dissect and "fix" my Garmin 305-- take it apart. I found this link: http://blog.mtbguru.com/2008/11/06/surgery-on-the-garmin-edge-305/. My questions are: Are there any botched operations or deaths in the Geo house? Tips? I want to replace the outer rubber that goes over the side buttons while it is apart because it is worn out. Is this possible? |
| c('.'c) Costa Mesa | 06/27/09 9:34 PM | Thanks Doug. I just turned off auto pause. From now on, if I get a good time I'll know I earned it. |
| pacman Thousand Oaks | 06/27/09 3:52 PM | Jake - TC shows the total time. Finding the true riding time is not easy for for software because to a GPS you are always moving, just a question of how slowly. PS I don't use the auto-pause and only stop the clock at the end. |
| c('.'c) Costa Mesa | 06/27/09 3:01 PM | I could probably just google this, but I'm lazy so I'll just ask you guys... I forgot how to find my total time. Training Center shows ride time, right? Where can I find my total time for a ride? Thanks - Jake |
| Staff | 06/25/09 11:03 PM | Winger - we autofill the total time because people will generally change it if it's different than their ride time. If we didn't autofill it people would tend to leave it blank, leaving the question did their ride include breaks or not? |
| Winger Orange | 06/25/09 5:00 PM | Re: ride time & total time. When I manually enter a ride and post a ride time, it auto fills the total time as the same. I always considered it a site bug. |
| Staff | 06/24/09 4:20 PM | Version 2.7.3 of Garmin Communicator is now available. Solves download/upload problems that were in version 2.7.2 (so it is no longer necessary to go back to version 2.6.4). The new version can be found on their site at http://www.garmin.com/products/communicator/ |
| Staff | 06/24/09 1:56 PM | Surfurguy24th: When we installed 2.7.3 on the mac, we initially had the same problem you are having. Logging out and logging in again fixed it and the Garmin was detected successfully. |
| Kriskb Tucson | 06/24/09 7:46 AM | Surferguy24th. Don't use the latest Garmin Connect software. Use ver 2.6.4. Link: http://www.garmin.com/software/InstallGarminCommunicatorPluginforMac_264.dmg |
| Kriskb Tucson | 06/24/09 7:44 AM | Looking for advice on lights. I am looking to get a helmet mounted light to ride trail at night. The trail I will be riding is not technical at all so don't need too extravagant of a system. I have been looking at the Nightrider Solmate. Anyone have any suggestions, maybe something they use? I am looking to spend no more then $150. Thank you in advance! |
| surferguy24th Rancho Cucamonga | 06/23/09 7:42 PM | Staff. I am having issues with uploading. I have never had problems before. I downloaded the garmin thing but it still shows that my garmin is undetectable. I have a mac. What do I need to do. |
| Staff | 06/22/09 10:18 AM | nstilwell - when 'ride time' and 'total time' match it's because they did the entire ride without stopping. Alot of people ride without any breaks if they're training, allowing them to easily compare their time with previous ride times to see if they're improving. |
| nstilwell Orange | 06/22/09 9:41 AM | When uploading from a Garmin, why do some riders post the ride time and total time as the same? |
| BigT Irvine | 06/21/09 8:53 PM | Wow... I'm usually so disapointed in Windows upgrades... that was a pretty neat and easy fix! Thanks! Knwoing MY outdated knowledge, that "page" function's probably been there for years. LOL :( But to me it's new and wonderful. |
| pacman Thousand Oaks | 06/21/09 7:42 AM | BigT - Yes, same problem. You have to run with "Compatibility View". Look under the "Page" menu of I.E. |
| BigT Irvine | 06/21/09 12:22 AM | Is anybody else having a problem on the GPS Playback page? The Playback Position and Playback Speed "sliders" aren't visible and don't work anymore for me. I did install the updated IE 8 recently, so this may be the problem. Staff? |

| gregbeck Mission Viejo | 06/19/09 7:49 AM | Has anyone ridden the SART (Santa Ana River Trail) all the way from the PCT (Pacific Crest Trail) in the San Bernardino Mountains (Heart Bar Campground) to the Pacific Ocean? I'm organining a multi-day ride for the high adventure guys in my Boy Scout troop and am trying to figure out the best route. Obviously, this will be part mountain and part pavement ride. Although the SART is quite developed in Orange County there are major "gaps" in Riverside and San Bernardino so we need to "portage" on city streets around these gaps in the trail. Even if you have not ridden the entire route (110 miles) I can use any suggestions you may have. I need the most help on the "upper portion" (beyone the Hidden Valley Nature Preserve) to Angelus Oaks. Thanks in advance. |

| pacman Thousand Oaks | 06/18/09 7:00 PM | Staff & DangerStu - route 127 is scored too low, very unusual for an official route. should be 30 points + subjective_factor |
| Red Ryder Garden Grove | 06/18/09 2:54 PM | DangerStu, there is always some error involved with creating routes, but 23 points seems low for the ride. Most of the personal routes are about 30 points for that ride. You might want to re-do your route and see what you get. |
| billstoudt Corona | 06/18/09 11:56 AM | I was at chino hills yesterday it was open. |
| DONALD JACKSON M.V. | 06/18/09 10:45 AM | Has anyone heard if Chino Hills State Park is closed? |

| DangerStu Laguna Niguel | 06/18/09 8:34 AM | Staff, a quick question about points I rode Aliso: cholla meadows (127) for 23 points, another user created a new identical route (24872) which is 33 points. Just wondering what causes the difference. |
| Frakk Anaheim | 06/18/09 8:27 AM | Hey fellas, dumb question do you know if Holly Jim is closed due to the recent fires? |
| MTB Fiend Trabuco Canyon | 06/17/09 8:00 PM | ALERT FOR ALL STT/Luge riders. Be on the lookout for a Maroon Toyota Camry with Tan interior and what looked like a CD hanging from the mirror. At 5:45pm today on the Modjeska Grade, the driver threw a half full water bottle at me, striking me on the shoulder. If this happens to you get his license plate and report him. I suspect the driver is a resident of Modjeska Cyn. Please report dangerous driver behaviour, we should not tolerate this sort of unprovoked behaviour. |
| 1080p Granada Hills | 06/17/09 3:17 PM | An Alert for ALL, please don't sponsor rides on closed areas... Mount Lowe Truck trail from the road to Eaton Saddle including Mueller Tunnel is closed right now, from June 8th 2009 through June 8th 2010. http://www.fs.fed.us/r5/angeles/ They are fining people, $5000 per incident, $10,000 per group, and up to 6 months in jail. |
| pacman Thousand Oaks | 06/17/09 6:14 AM | SKINNY - I'm running Windows and Excel. When you right-click on a table in Geoladders there's an option to "Export to Excel". The data opens up in a worksheet and you can do all the stats you like. For you 2009 -> 100hrs 16 mins and 126hrs 56mins w/breaks(you left some entries blank) |
| SKINNY Lake Forest | 06/15/09 9:57 PM | Staff: It would be cool to see a sum of total ride time for the year on the Ladder History table.. I realize some dont post times for each ride but for those of us that do it would be a cool stat to have. |
| Spartacus Rancho Santa Margarita | 06/15/09 8:35 PM | Rode back into Holy Jim area to see if I could see where the fire was back in there yesterday.Saw the OC Fire copter making drops back in that general area followed by about 8-10 Fire Trucks. I never saw anything that looked burned. Maybe it was the next ridge over. |
| trekstorm Yorba Linda | 06/15/09 8:28 PM | Okay Guys: Seems problem is the newer Garmin version. I downloaded the 2.6.4 and it works just fine. Thanks for the help. |

| DangerStu Laguna Niguel | 06/11/09 9:02 AM | I was passed on the roadbike big ladder this morning by ddalke, and then repassed him after uploading my ride to work, I did not get my usual 5 bonus points for a pass, is it because I started the day in front, can you explain the bonus point logic ? |
| Kriskb Tucson | 06/11/09 6:40 AM | I had the upload issue when I went to the latest Garmin connection software. Reverting back to 2.6.4 worked for me. So I see there is now an age ladder. Will we get ribbons for top five finishes in those? |
| Bronco07 Laguna Niguel | 06/10/09 9:04 PM | I tried the suggested fix for Garmin uploading issues and it worked for me. |
| Staff | 06/09/09 9:45 PM | Trekstorm - Some people who are using the latest release of Garmin Communicator are encountering problems. Going back to version 2.6.4 solves the problem for most... We are working on a fix and hope to have it uploaded soon. |
| Staff | 06/09/09 9:42 PM | unikid - ok, that makes sense, we will update the page in the next couple days. Thanks for the feedback. |
| Staff | 06/09/09 9:40 PM | Kriskb - we plan to spend time on the forum but we're working on a few other things first, thanks. |
| trekstorm Yorba Linda | 06/09/09 9:00 PM | Staff: (or anyone else who can help me) Here's what's happening. On the download page it says #1 "Get rides from GPS", #2 "Select Route" with a pulldown that does not move. Put in all info and hit "Send route to Geoladders" and the statement "no tracks loaded" which again goes back to #2. So why can't I get the pulldown to work so I can load a track? |
| unikid Laguna Hills | 06/09/09 4:40 PM | Staff- I like the updates you made to the Rides page by making things controlled with a checkbox, etc. The issue that I was referring to is the actual page you go to when you click on the Group Rides link: http://www.geoladders.com/schedule_popup.php. This page is in my opinion a big step backward from the original page. The columns take up a lot of space and are in a less logical order now. In contrast, the "Last 50 rides" list which appears at the bottom of the same screen, is very easy to read and is more like the original style of the page. |
| GARRETT GARCIA | 06/08/09 9:12 PM | sweet new geoladders! |
| Kriskb Tucson | 06/08/09 7:13 PM | Staff, are you guys going to revamp the forum anytime soon? IE make it more like a traditional forum with different threads and such? |
| Staff | 06/08/09 4:51 PM | unikid, we moved the scheduled rides column from the right side because not everyone is interested in scheduled rides. The new method allows you to turn scheduled rides on (i.e. using the checkbox) only if you want to see them. Same with the forum and game. You're right about it being harder to read though, we will try to clean that up. Thanks for the feedback. |
| unikid Laguna Hills | 06/08/09 4:39 PM | The new scheduled rides screen is much harder on the eyes and takes up way too much real estate on the screen. Have to scan left and right edges of the screen to find the same information that you could see before in one single glance. What was wrong with the old style? Why rearrange all the columns? |
| pacman Thousand Oaks | 06/07/09 10:16 PM | trekstorm - I had a similar problem when changing the "cookie" policy of the browser. When going from page to page, GL "forgets" that you are logged in. Fix was to go back to medium privacy policy. |
| trekstorm Yorba Linda | 06/07/09 6:58 PM | Staff: Okay it's my turn for help. I'm trying to upload my route and there is a section that says "no tracks loaded" Nothing is coming up when I click. So what do I need to do? Thanks |

I reserved it 6 months ago and later set the wed date. Anyhow, its right on the bluff and considered one of the best sites there. I hate to just cancel my reservation and lose out on some $ and not be able to take advantage of the site. I thought i'd throw a message on the forum and see if any geo people want to take advantage before i cancel. I paid 82 bucks. Its good for tents or motorhome. Pm me if interested. | XCRider Villa Park | 06/05/09 3:00 PM | Riding while married isn't a problem. You'll have to take a bit of a break when the kids get to soccer/baseball age. Say maybe 10 years... no big deal. You'll never even notice. |

| Ladera Mike Ladera Ranch | 06/04/09 4:29 PM | Is there a way to show the rank of the users in your QuickList with the new format? | STEVO CARRILLO Rancho Santa Margarita | 06/03/09 10:37 PM | Nice job staff, looks tight..... |
| XCRider Villa Park | 06/03/09 7:41 PM | ... just found that I can mess with the ladders quickview on the Rides tab. Changed my mind, I like the new arrangement a lot. |
| XCRider Villa Park | 06/03/09 7:38 PM | New tab arrangement looks very nice. Ladders+Rides was more compact though and easier to see everything at once. I'll miss that. Rides alone ends up with a lot of unused space due to number of personal routes without pictures. Some way to compress things a little might be nice. Whole site is an excellent piece of craftsmanship though and so I'm reluctant to second guess design work. |
| mark1890 canyon lake | 06/03/09 5:38 PM | like the rides tab staff... |
