We are still resolving a few issues related to our SSL,secure server transition. You may see a bug here and there, but easily fixed, by you, if you change the url manually from http: to https: For example on the posts page, or posting a message here in the forum. The only exception is the Garmin upload / download pages, which need to remain http: Thanks
Enriquez, Big T, & others: You can upload or download direct from your Garmin in IE, as before! But, for now, when the page comes up, you will still see the 'locked plug-in' error, just change https: to http: in your browser and reload the page.

Big T, go to any route page and you'll see the 'how to upload gpx' blurb in the middle of the page, down the page, gray text, and this in orange ' UPLOAD - A GPX FILE'. It's actually only a few seconds to upload a gpx, that's the good news :)

Today at 04:40 AM - Chilly and breezy but all the flowers were dazzling for the 8 who braved the elements. Instead of the full Kfar Uriah loop, we doubled back on alternate trails to the east.

02/12/19 - Got the three amigos back together for the first time in about two months. I had nothing after my last couple weeks of training. Every uphill sucked.
02/12/19 - Powder day. Most of mountain was closed making huge lines at chair 8 and 16. Skipped the lines by riding with Erik and his instructor (helping with the other kids too). Great time riding powder with Erik and Michelle. Max 25.1.
02/12/19 - Did not wear Garmin on 2/7/19. Mostly did powder laps on Richocet off chair 9. 2/8/19 was mostly Chair 3 and race courses off Broadway. Max 25.8.

02/11/19 - Monday Night Social ride starting at Lamppost Pizza to the Back Bay and back. Pretty chilly ride for our small group of 5. Good fun playing center, right, left over pizza and beers. A new one for me. I was gassed from the Tour of Sufferlandria over the last 10 days. Don't how people rode so well after the Tour of Palm Springs only two days before.
02/07/19 - Some mud but not a problem. Water crossings up to knee deep and strong. Started snowing at 3700 ft. Lots of waterfalls. Hero dirt all the way.

01/26/19 - Unbelievable winds at the top had to crouch down and put a death grip on my bars as i was walking the wind was blowing the bike into the air like a kite. Turned around at the last left before the Peak crazy.

11/24/18 - Walked with wife. I took her to a partial of one of my MTB rides by Olinda area and also to the new single tracks along North Ridge Trail.
The temps were perfect. We had a cloudy morning with fresh breeze at times
11/25/18, 04:00 PM We rode from Rim Crest today but did not make it up to Northridge. Are those single tracks worth the climb up there? Also, we saw some other trails coming down from Northridge to Telegraph that are not on the map. Have you ridden those? How technical are they? One last question. The first singletrack to the left after heading up Southridge from Rim Crest, is that a good trail or are we better off to ride Bovinian Delight?

11/19/18 - Night ride. Good temps, cold but not chilly. I finally could complete my exploration of the new single tracks trails created on North Ridge which go from hill to hill and crosses the main NR trail several times.
11/19/18, 07:35 PM Hi "mtb fan", NR trail is not officially open yet (my guess) because the fence at the trailhead is still there, nevertheless the bicycle traffic is intense in both directions. There is an access trail on the left that allows you to get on it without dismounting.

10/16/18 - new, No Trespassing Sign at Trabuco Creek Road entrance, new electric fence around parker ranch, and lots of new concrete barriers where 4x4's like to play, past the radio airport. Somebody doesn't like company.
10/19/18, 02:35 PM Steel gates don't stop mud. There are 2 new gates at the north main divide. 1 at each side of Elsinore Peak, and another at Tenaja falls.

10/06/18 - SS - Lovely temps and overcast. Ran into Sarge and his grandson at 4 C's and rode up to Mark's bench with them. Tragedy at the end of the Live Oak Trail. A guy was taking a break there with his 2 riding buddies and literally fell over with a massive heart attack. Sarge went up the road to guide in the fire truck. I got there a couple minutes later. 2 helicopters came and landed nearby in a clearing with the 2nd bringing the paramedics right when the fire truck arrived. One biker was giving CPR by pumping his chest repetitively for at least 15 minutes till the paramedics got there. I was going to spot him but he kept going. The man down was fading in and out. Barely conscience. He'd start to turn blue and then turn normal and start to respond.Very scary as I didn't think he'd make it. The paramedics gave him IV's and the paddles 3 times before they left with him. All I could do was pray for his recovery while the one biker was giving CPR. Tough day. Pray that he's OK and for his family.

08/20/18 - Wanted to see what things looked like up Trabuco after the fire, but they've closed the Cleveland Forest gate, to all. A ranger was on the road and I asked him how long it would be closed, he said a few months. ...added this pic.

08/18/18 - no rso. StartTime=1110. With my wife. This is the 1st post since 2018may25. My wife broke both bones in her wrist on 2018may26. I have been taking care of her 24/7 ever since. She is 1.5 years older than I am. 9 years ago she may have had a mini-stroke and her balance has not been good ever since. She can no longer dance. She still can not make a fist so she can not drive. It has only been a few weeks that she has been able to use her walker with enough pressure to keep from falling. So during the day she can now navigate around the house. At nite, she still depends on me to guide her around to the bathroom. I drive her everywhere she needs to go, eg, for physical therapy to reduce the swelling in her hand and to manipulate her fingers and wrist and forearm. The monsoon rains have made biking impossible. Prior to her being able to use her walker, I could not be away from her for more than 90 minutes and she could not get out of her lazy boy by herself.
08/19/18, 12:09 AM Glad you're able to get on the bike again, and that your wife is getting better! That must feel good after a many weeks of struggle. :)

07/30/18 - My original plan was to head up to Beek's Place, but when I got above the shade and the sun was beating down on me I decided that Plan B would be to Hidden Ranch and back, as it was warming up quick. The drop into HR was a nice cool down, and then some high clouds rolled in so I went back to the original plan. Slight cloud cover stayed with me until about mile 7 which was nice. Found a short single track that I had not noticed before at about mile 3.5 - doubled back and checked it out on the climb; very short but breaks up the fireroad decent, which by the way was very smooth today; corners nice and clean.
